Around the world, seafood is in high demand. Many regions of the country naturally retain premium growing conditions for various types of seafood while other areas you have to create the optimal environment.

Once the product is ready to be harvested and sent to either processing plants or directly to market, it will need to be transported. Many times this transportation needs to keep the product alive until it arrives at the market to retain its high value.

Challenges

In many areas of the world, premium seafood is sometimes unable to be harvested or is potentially destroyed due to HAB (Harmful Algae Blooms), high counts of dangerous bacteria and viruses i.e. Dermo and Vibrio hence making the mollusk harmful to humans for consumption. Some farmers are forced to stop harvesting during heavy rains due to high bacteria levels caused by run-off waters entering their growing grounds coming from land.

Once your product is harvested, now it needs to make it either to market or the processing plant. During this transportation, your product is at risk of cross contamination. After the product makes it to the plant, many post-processing steps are performed to obtain the final product desired.
